After 20 days awol the site is finally up and running again. The problem was caused by a problem with the domain. But it is all finally sorted and we are looking forward to the New Year...finally.

I had many announcements to make on New Years Day that will now be made over the next few days.

As I am sure many of you know, at the end of every year we have a poll to vote from a selection of homes to choose the year’s most imaginative mod. This is a mod that is so outstanding in it’s uniqueness and concept. Previous years Most Imaginative Mods as selected by you were:

As you know Gold Shield mods are mods that have truly pushed the boundaries of house modding and made something extremely unique and spectacular. The main purpose for having Gold Shield mods is to recognize the exceptional work and to inform people searching for a home that this is a 'mind blowing, must see' mod. These special mods can be identified on ORE by the Gold Shield beside the mod's name. Like so...

I am sure you will notice one thing in common with all these and that is that they all have custom interiors and exteriors and that they all offer something never before seen or done in Oblivion house modding. All of them so unique and imaginative.

Well to start off this next modding year I would like to welcome three new Gold Shield Mods to ORE. I think you will agree that these are truly exceptional works of art.

The first one we all have come to know and love. It has truly set a new standard in Castle building. From the layout, the quest, the location, the brand new architecture, the never before seen features....from top to bottom this is a work of art.

The second one is one of the most beautiful, atmospheric homes I have ever come across. The quintessential country estate with elegant decor, old world charm and gorgeous landscaped gardens. The atmosphere and charm of this home really deserves to be experienced....

Blackmarsh Hall by Yevic

The third is one that I have intended to make a Gold Shield for a while. It has flown under the radar of quite a few people so far and not really had the praise and attention it fully deserves. I have never seen anything like it in Oblivion house modding. It is downright beautiful with amazing features, overall an incredible imaginative concept that needs to be seen in game to be fully appreciated....

Ever so often a house mod is released that truly sets a new standard in Oblivion house modding. Abandoned Mountain Shack is such a mod. Created by Vince, an ORE ‘Hall of Modders’ modder.

Stumble across an abandoned shack and set to fixing it up and making it your own! You will need to clean, tidy and repair the shack back to a livable state. Performing each task leaves you with a real feeling of accomplishment as you observe the results. You really feel like you are earning this house.

After all the hard work is done, you get quite a bonus that adds even further decoration to the cosy house. Then you can make yourself a cup of coffee to your taste and sit back on the porch swing chair looking out over the remarkable view.

This is an exterior house which means, incredible views from inside the house. Worried about security? No problem! On the inside of the front door is an animated locking bolt. Rain inside the house. Nope, the author has solved that issue as well.
